The Indianapolis Colts kept their undefeated season going with a 42-6 pasting of the St. Louis Rams.
This game was never close, as the Rams defense had no answer for the high-powered Colts offense.
Quarterback Peyton Manning had his first game under 300 yards passing on the season, but he still tossed three touchdowns.
He could have thrown for 500 yards if he really wanted to, but the Colts got the running backs involved in the game.
Joseph Addai had more than 60 yards rushing and a touchdown and is slowly improving as the season wears on.

Safety Bob Sanders looks like he may be making his season debut for the Colts this week against the St. Louis Rams.
“He’s improving,” coach Jim Caldwell said. “He’s been ramping up his activity over the last three weeks and we anticipate he will be able to do something for us [Sunday].”
Sanders, the 2007 NFL defensive player of the year, has been limited by offseason knee surgery and has not played in a game since January. For the first time this season, Sanders did not appear on the Colts injury report Wednesday, and Sanders is expected to participate in most of practice this week.
“I feel better than I’ve felt in a long time,” Sanders said Wednesday. “I feel excited about that and I’m ready to get in there. But we’ve not made that decision [about playing] yet.”
Sanders has missed all of training camp, the preseason, and the first six weeks of the season on his long road to recovery. The Colts hoped that he would return earlier than the six weeks, explaining why they did not place him on the physically unable to perform list.
Sanders has been limited to only appearing in 43 of a possible 85 games in his six NFL seasons.

The Indianapolis Colts continued their scorching hot start to the season with a 31-9 win over the Tennessee Titans.
Quarterback Peyton Manning is obviously an incredible talent, but he is playing out of his mind right now.
Manning had another 300 yard passing game and threw three touchdown passes, spreading the ball among several receivers.
Despite the youth at the wide receiver position, this seems like one of the best passing attacks the Colts have ever had.
The team now gets a bye before beginning the second half of their schedule.

In a not-so-welcome surprise for the Indianapolis Colts, they were forced to sign kicker Matt Stover this week to replaced usual starter Adam Vinatieri, who will be out four to eight weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.
Indianapolis released starting defensive tackle Ed Johnson to make room for Stover on the roster, a move that’s somewhat surprising, considering that the Colts just brought Johnson back in May to shore up their run defense.
Vinatieri kicked a short field goal midway through the Colts 31-9 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday and did not appear to be injured at the time. He did not get hit by any player on the kick, and did not limp off the field.
However, Vinatieri did undergo surgery in the offseason on his right knee and right hip, which caused him to miss training camp. The Colts did not say whether the current injury is related.
Stover started in the league with the Cleveland Browns in 1991; when the team moved to Baltimore in 1996, so did Stover. He kicked every important field goal for the Ravens franchise for the next 13 years, however; after losing some leg power on long field goal tries, the Ravens brought in Steve Hauschka and released Stover.
To replace Johnson in the defensive lineup, the Colts will likely be giving Daniel Muir and Fili Moala more playing time.

With Adam Vinatieri out for the next month or so, the Indianapolis Colts have signed kicker Matt Stover.
Stover had a previous offer from the Cleveland Browns but declined it, and it looks like he made the right decision.
The kicker should do very well playing in a dome and for a team that puts a lot of points up on the scoreboard.
It also doesn’t hurt that he has a legitimate shot to win another Super Bowl.
There is no word on what the Colts intend to do once Vinatieri returns from the surgery on his right knee.

Peyton Manning turned in another sharp performance in primetime television (his third this season already), and the Indianapolis Colts beat their division rivals, the Tennessee Titans, 31-9.
Manning threw for 309 yards, completing 36 of 44 passes for three touchdowns and one interception. He started the season with five straight 300+ yard games, becoming the third QB in NFL history to have five straight 300 yard games. Steve Young and Kurt Warner are the only other QBs to have done it; both threw for six straight 300 yard games.
Manning set all kinds of personal records in the game against the Titans, as he passed Fran Tarkenton to move into the number three place on the NFL’s all-time touchdown list with his 343rd touchdown in the first quarter to Reggie Wayne. Only Brett Favre (471) and Dan Marino (420) have thrown more touchdowns than Manning.
The Titans, who led the AFC with a 13-3 record last season, fell to 0-5 on the season, and with the first Vince Young sighting of the season, the Titans are left with more questions than answers heading into their showdown with New England next week.
WR Austin Collie had a career day, catching eight passes for 97 yards and two touchdowns.

The Indianapolis Colts made very quick work of the injury-riddled Seattle Seahawks in a 34-17 victory.
Quarterback Peyton Manning continued his quick start to the season with nearly 400 yards passing and four touchdowns.
The Colts also ran the ball well for the first time this season, with Joseph Addai and Donald Brown both finding the end zone.
The score doesn’t begin to indicate how much of a blowout this really was, as the Colts led 28-3 early in the second half.
Indianapolis travels to Tennessee next week with a chance to eliminate the Titans from playoff contention just five weeks into the season. Who saw that coming?

The Indianapolis Colts’ Peyton Manning is usually really, really good. But when he’s making history, the Colts are unbeatable.
The future Hall-of-Famer added to his resume in a 34-17 win over the Seattle Seahawks that wasn’t as close as the final score might indicate. The milestones:
- Led the offense to touchdowns on four of its first five drives, tying an NFL mark
- Threw for 300+ yards for the fourth straight game, setting a franchise record
- His last touchdown was the 342nd of his career, tying him for third all-time with Fran Tarkenton
He finished 31 of 41 for 353 yards and two touchdowns. Four receivers had at least six catches, led by tight end Dallas Clark’s eight for 80 yards.
The defense was equally impressive, holding the injury-riddled Seahawks to just three points over the first three quarters before allowing a couple garbage-time touchdowns late.
